Code of Conduct

The mission of the Amsterdam Improv Marathon, and its producers, is to offer a fun, friendly, encouraging, trusting — and most importantly — safe and supportive environment where everyone can enjoy performing, working on, and  watching improv theatre and comedy. 

Expectations from Producers, Performers, and Patrons

All performers, patrons, volunteers and staff of the Marathon should and can expect to be treated fairly and with respect. We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind.

Discrimination Policy

We make selections, casting decisions, and choices about whom to work with based on qualifications, such as talent and commitment. We never discriminate based on personal characteristics such as: race, color, ethnicity, or national origin, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, or any other legally protected status. This applies to all performers, patrons, volunteers and staff.

We expect anyone involved in the Amsterdam Improv Marathon to abide by the same guidelines, regardless of their role in the organisation.

 

Harassment Policy

Amsterdam Improv Marathon is a safe and supportive environment, and will not tolerate harassment of any kind, on stage or off.

We consider harassment to be any unwelcome conduct based on a person’s legally protected class or a violation of a person’s right to safety and privacy. Unwelcome means that the other party did not want, request, nor invite the behavior. Beyond the legal protections prescribed under Dutch laws, we will not tolerate any behavior that actively seeks to intimidate, bully, create a hostile environment, or invade the privacy and/or safety of a performer, patron, volunteer or member of staff, including unwelcome sexual advances or activity.
